Angry Birds

Certainly by now you’ve heard about Angry Birds, the insanely successful physics game about shooting wingless birds at structures hiding pigs. The pigs have stolen the birds’ eggs, and so they must be destroyed. The game’s controls are extremely simple — just slide a finger back from the birds’ massive slingshot, then let go — but the result is a game that requires some precise action and skill. Believe us, pounding through each level to find the next and pull down a three-star score proves very addictive.

Put simply, Angry Birds is an extremely good way to spend a dollar. Developer Rovio Mobile often pushes through updates to the app that pack extra levels and hidden “golden eggs” that players can find throughout the game and unlock even more levels. There are already 240 levels to play through!

There are even more levels to be had in Angry Birds Seasons ($0.99), which gets updated throughout the year with levels themed for holidays and other seasonal events. There’s also Angry Birds Free, which has levels not included in the other versions.
