Frogger
By Konami Digital Entertainment
Overview
The Frogger mobile game has the same addicting charm as its original arcade predecessor from Konami. Hop your frog through lanes of traffic, across ponds and more—this time using touch screen technology instead of a joystick.

Frogger originated in the 1980s, the so-called golden age of arcade video games. It's no wonder why Konami Digital Entertainment recreated the favorite classic for the modern, mobile world.
The object of the game is simple: Get frogs home safely by avoiding cars on a busy road and navigate them through a hazardous river. The app gives you the option of playing in New or Classic game modes, which basically play on the different styles of graphics. Classic mode is clearly outdated and a bit pixelated, but if you’re feeling nostalgic, give it a try. If you ask us, the New game mode is cleaner while still retaining Frogger’s simple objective. The Options tab lets users control sound, vibration and game mode.
The free version of the app does the arcade game justice—if you’re looking for simplicity, that is. For added games modes like Tile Capture, Battle Royale and Freak Out, you can download Frogger: Hyper Arcade Edition for 99 cents. This advanced version has extra stages, HD graphics and old-school retro visuals.
Frogger's biggest bragging right is its integration of Facebook Connect, which lets users (you guessed it) connect with friends on Facebook and surpass each other’s high scores.
Even though Frogger celebrated its 30th birthday in September of 2011, the video-game icon withstands the test of time and remains one of the top-selling video games, and now smartphone game apps. Leap on.
