The Recapp Rating

This was a tough one for us. We wanted to give the app 3 stars, but considering the cost of Android security, one major thing vaulted us back up to 4 stars: This app is (unbelievably) free.
As far as Android apps go, G Cloud is surprisingly simple, which is always a good thing. Not only is the app free, but it offers a gigabyte of free storage on a G Cloud-supported backup cloud. This should be enough for most of us. But if you have more than a gig that needs backup on your phone, you may need something a little more powerful (and possibly more complicated). For this, we suggest you look into Kaspersky Mobile Security.
Now to the nitty gritty. G Cloud backs up most important functions on your phone: texts, pictures, music, contacts, videos, even your documents. And for an added bonus, if you have Wi-Fi activated on your phone, the app will back up all of the above automatically. It's an outstanding feature, and if you are a frequent phone user (like most of us are), it’s a feature that is crucial for security.
To take things a step further, G Cloud can transfer all the aforementioned information to a new device. Gone are the days of standing in line at the phone store, waiting for a clerk to finish eating a greasy snack in order to crack your phone in half in an attempt to migrate your information without losing it all (yes, this has happened to us twice). For that reason alone, G Cloud is indispensable in the Android world.
The app will also sense when your battery is low, and it will back up your phone in the nick of time. Additionally, it is not a large drain on said battery.
If you need more storage, you can opt to pay a one-time fee of $2.99 for an unlimited amount. All things considered, that’s cheap when you look at all the things this app will back up at the free price.
Finally, the people at Genie9 pride themselves on being accessible and helpful should you have any questions, comments or concerns in regards to G Cloud. So if you are having issues installing, operating or manipulating the settings of the app, they’ll be more than happy to help. Free, user friendly, thorough backup and service with a smile—in the app world, you just can’t ask for much more.
