There’s no denying that Instagram brings out the hipster in all of us. Why not take it to the next level with a photo-sharing app that doesn’t try to hide it? The Hipster app allows you to create an instantly updated visual stream of locations and events from around the world through the sharing of virtual postcards.

Since this is a hipster type of app, it applies artsy themes, effects and filters to your photos to make them oh so unique. Choose whether you want your pics glossy, tinted, edgy or vintage. You can also customize your postcards by adding a caption to the cover and text to the back, like you would on a real postcard.

The only way you’ll “follow the crowd” with Hipster is by keeping up with your friends’ postcards and other postcards from the places you’ve been, thanks to the app’s geotagging feature. This allows you to specify where you are while taking, editing and posting your virtual postcard.

Similar to photo-sharing apps Instagram and Via.Me, Hipster also features a website component. You can also share your postcards through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, foursquare and Flickr, where you can tag the friends who are lucky enough to be featured in your very hip postcards.
