When we want to know what live concerts are happening around town and when, we either search online or grab one of those indie newspapers at the local coffee shop. But from here on out, we’re just going to use JamBase. This concert locator makes finding live tunes around you or in a specific city insanely easy.

The app first asks to use your GPS location to produce a list of local concerts for you. Within this list, you can browse concerts by date, and when you tap a show, the app provides the concert’s location, ticket information, show time and even a map of the venue. You can purchase tickets right from here or add it to your JamBase calendar.

If you prefer to search for concerts by another city or by a specific artist, do so in the Search category (again, your results will display by date). Either way, we gotta say that we’re impressed by JamBase’s database. From smaller gigs at bars to big-name performers at city arenas, this app really captivates your entire local music scene in one organized place.

The My Artists section is cool because you can select artists from your device’s music library and add them as favorites, so you can quickly search where your singers and bands of choice are playing in a matter of seconds. You’ll also get a bio of each of your favorite performers.

The fourth section is My Calendar. Any shows that you tag as “I’m Going” will appear here. Let’s hope you can build quite the extensive list!
