Scribblenauts Remix is a mobile game that pushes the bounds of a player’s imagination. Create your own unique experience because the content of this game app is the player’s imagination itself. To help helmet-headed Maxwell collect Starites, you can type in almost anything—and we mean anything—and it will appear.

Need to get past a tall cliff? Type in “ladder.” Need to get a Starite up in the air? Maybe try an eagle or an airplane. And that’s just the beginning. The library of creative things you can produce is nearly limitless (excluding proper nouns and profanity—this is a family game), but terms like wizards, lions, UFOs and beehives are all good to go. Not only will anything in your imaginative mind appear and function as you would expect; your creations will also interact. Enter “gazelle” to go with that lion, and it probably won’t last very long. How about Big Foot and a yeti to answer the age-old debate about which fabled ape-man reigns supreme? Now that could get interesting.

If that weren’t enough, Scribblenauts Remix exceeds the vast number of objects in its Nintendo DS predecessor and allows for adjectives (in addition to nouns) for an even greater personal story. Huge, angry pandas and rock-star babies are now possible.

If there’s one knock on this mobile game, it’s that often times just playing around and testing the limits of the game to make hilarious objects is more appealing than actually completing the game’s objectives. Developer 5th Cell Media does a great job introducing diverse levels and unique challenges, but sometimes you just want to mess around and see what your imagination can create. Then again, the whole point of the game is that you can play it just about however you want. No two players will have the same experience.

So, if you’d rather ruin a beach party with a great white shark attack than make a volleyball and earn your Starite, then the developers of this mobile game would probably be okay with that. This is a must-have iPhone game for anyone with an imagination and a sense of humor.
