Tired of those painfully circular discussions in which no one can decide where to eat? We know we are. Thankfully, Urbanspoon can help solve that problem. It makes finding restaurants in specific cities or just near your location easy. It’ll even pick a restaurant near you at random or with specific criteria (food type, price) to take all the deciding out of the decision. Phew.

There’s more to Urbanspoon than just finding a place to eat, though — the app has been substantially improved over time with lots of social networking integration, and now it can connect to Facebook. When you can’t make a decision, you can see what friends and other users recommend in your area. Urbanspoon also let you upload photos from your excursions to share on the service, and it’ll even make reservations for you using “find a table” when you’re in a hurry. Urbanspoon is available for iPhone, Blackberry and Android, with very similar features.

Need more convincing that this is a handy app you should download? Can you say free? Seriously, what do you have to lose? There’s a reason Apple put Urbanspoon in its early iPhone commercials — it’s a great app to have around.
