PewPew is a retro shooter game with speed. That's great for experienced gamers. Novices, though, may find getting the hang of the multitouch controls a challenge.

Quick-draw shooter PewPew might have you feeling nostalgic for your days at the arcade as a kid. With its simple geometric-shape and line graphics, PewPew looks like it could have been made in the early 1980s. But we like the retro thing. Even if you’re not into a blast from the past, the game’s vibrant colors and dynamic game play will draw you in. And with four very different gaming modes, it’s safe to say that you won’t tire of PewPew as quickly as you might the average mobile shooter game.
While the premise of this game is fairly simple to understand — avoid aliens and blast them to smithereens — it’s not so easy to play. The game moves really fast and the multitouch controls, though very responsive, take a little time to get the hang of. For a novice gamer, it’s a challenge. We wish the developer had included more difficulty levels to make the game more accessible to all types of players. Even so, we think it’s fun — and worth a try.
Here’s a tip: When you play, close as many apps running in the background as possible, as this tends to affect how smoothly the game plays.
